We are looking for:

Description 

  • Work as a team with nurses to provide pre-hospital emergency care to patients
  • Ensure safety around and inside the aircraft
  • Transport patients to the most appropriate hospital, depending on the situation
  • Assist the nurse during health assessments, provide required medical care based on the patient’s condition, and apply established protocols
  • Complete relevant documentation according to the mission (patient’s condition before/during and at the end of the flight)
  • Work collaboratively with other team members during missions and standby periods
  • Ensure respect for the patient’s privacy

Job Requirements 

  • Registration with the national registry of paramedic technicians of Quebec
  • Interest in aerial rescue
  • Good physical condition
  • Functional languages (French/English)
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Description

  • Provide on-site medical care and evacuation of injured persons
  • Work as a team with paramedics and flight nurses to provide pre-hospital emergency care to patients in rescue situations
  • Ensure the safety of the area, around and inside the aircraft, in rescue situations
  • Transport patients to the most appropriate hospital, depending on the situation
  • Assist the nurse during health assessments, provide required medical care based on the patient’s condition, and apply established protocols
  • Complete relevant documentation according to the mission (patient’s condition before/during and at the end of the flight)
  • Work collaboratively with other team members during missions and standby periods
  • Ensure respect for the patient’s privacy

Job Requirements

  • Registration with the national registry of paramedic technicians of Quebec
  • Interest in aerial rescue
  • Good physical condition. During the physical test, the rescue swimmer must swim 675 metres in under 20 minutes, run 1.5 miles in under 10 minutes, perform 31 push-ups, 33 sit-ups, and 8 consecutive pull-ups, and complete a 450-metre shuttle run
  • Functional languages (French/English)
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

The flight nurse will participate in rescue missions, interhospital transfers, aeromedical escort missions on commercial flights, as well as repatriation missions. You will be one of the members of our team on a commercial airliner or on an emergency aircraft or helicopter.

Description

  • Provide pre-hospital emergency care and intensive care to patients
  • Transport patients to the most appropriate hospital, depending on the situation
  • Assess the patient’s health condition, provide required medical care based on their condition, and apply established protocols
  • Complete relevant documentation according to the mission (patient’s condition before/during and at the end of the flight)
  • Upon taking charge of a patient, if applicable, receive the medical report from another health professional and transmit their own report to the health professional at the destination
  • Work collaboratively with other team members during missions and standby periods
  • Ensure respect for the patient’s privacy

Requirements

  • Be an active member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec
  • 2 years of experience in emergency or intensive care
  • Experience in aeromedical care would be an asset
  • Good physical condition
  • Resourceful
  • Functional languages: French/English
  • The following accredited training or their equivalents will be considered an asset: ACLS, ITLS, PALS, NALS or NRP and TNATC
  • Have no criminal record that could prevent travel outside Canada
  • Have a valid passport, if applicable

Required Qualities

Vigilance
The helicopter is a fast machine. It must be handled with care to ensure passenger safety.

Self-Control
The helicopter pilot may be required to fly in all weather conditions, especially during rescue operations. A high level of dexterity is essential.

Know-How

  • Check the flight log, flight plan, technical data of the aircraft, and verify fuel levels and weather conditions
  • Carry out checks and preparation of the cockpit, equipment, and cabin materials with the cabin crew
  • Transmit and exchange flight information with onboard personnel and ground technical staff
  • Organize or supervise onboard operations (loading, passenger welcome, etc.) and implement emergency measures in the event of unforeseen circumstances
  • Carry out take-off, flying, and landing operations of the aircraft and perform technical checks at each stage
  • Monitor navigation and operating parameters of the aircraft in flight and adjust the flight plan in coordination with air traffic control centers
  • Prepare various end-of-flight reports and submit them to the relevant department
  • Assess a pilot’s knowledge
  • Carry out medical evacuation operations by air transport
  • Carry out freight operations by air transport
  • Carry out passenger air transport operations
  • Participate in a rescue operation
  • Participate in a humanitarian action or mission
  • Participate in a police action or mission
  • Perform an external inspection of the aircraft before takeoff (chocks in place, cargo hold loading, fuel, etc.)
  • Prepare a service status report
  • Verify staff authorizations and certifications

Knowledge

  • Onboard navigation system
  • Knowledge of civil aviation regulations
  • Communication gestures with ground crew
  • Aeronautical terminology (IATA, aeronautical alphabet, etc.)
  • Aeronautical software
  • Technical characteristics of aircraft
  • Mechanical principles of flight and air navigation

Requirements

  • College-level education
  • Years of job-related experience: 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Valid Canadian commercial helicopter pilot license;
  • 1000 hours of helicopter flight time preferred;
  • Endorsement on AS350, Bell 206, BK117;
  • Rescue experience;
  • Mountain flying experience,
  • Hoist and sling, vertical reference will be considered an asset;
  • Holding a valid Group 4 instrument rating is considered an asset;
  • Functional languages French/English
  • Good communication skills
  • Team spirit and positive attitude;
  • Motivated by success;
  • Customer service oriented.

Helico Secours is a non-profit solidarity cooperative working in collaboration with stakeholders in the health and public safety sector, the business community, and the municipal sector, with the goal of providing helicopter search, rescue, and urgent medical transport services throughout the territory of Quebec at an affordable price for everyone.

Helico Secours cs currently operates a base in Saguenay and soon in Saint-Hubert. The project initially plans facilities in Outaouais and on the Côte-Nord. Future deployments will enable dynamic coverage between bases across the entire territory of Quebec for the benefit of workers and Quebecers.

Nature of the Contribution

Reporting to the General Manager, the Business Development Advisor develops strategies and implements outreach and membership activities with businesses, municipalities, clubs, federations, and potential associations, following the annual outreach plan, and evaluates the benefit for them based on Helico Secours’ progressive deployment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops outreach strategies, and implements the plan to meet set deadlines in order to achieve the cooperative’s financial objectives
  • Conducts outreach and solicitation with management and executives of potential member organizations (businesses and municipalities) in order to finalize service agreements and achieve membership objectives.
  • Identifies new outreach opportunities and conducts outreach and solicitation with potential clients/members.
  • Drafts documents to support outreach approaches with members and clients (service proposals, activity reports, etc.) and follows up on them in order to finalize service agreements.
  • Develops and drafts memoranda of understanding between Helico Secours cs and members/clients.

 

Job Requirements

The candidate must demonstrate interest in participating in the development of the societal project that is Helico Secours cs and be driven by the cooperative’s mission.

  • Demonstrate relevant experience in business development within corporate markets.
  • Have the ability to give presentations, both in person and virtually, to business managers and to elected municipal officials and their managers.
  • Have an excellent network of contacts in the business, health, and municipal sectors.
  • Have a good understanding of regional realities: healthcare, economic development, remoteness of services.
  • Communicate clearly and have excellent command of written and spoken French

Assets include:

  • Knowledge of the healthcare sector (CIUSSS, CISSS, CRSSS, others)
  • Knowledge of key markets: mining, forestry, recreational and tourism sector
  • Knowledge of the ambulance transport sector

Conditions

  • Full-time position
  • Remote work (must have the basic equipment required; a reimbursement program is provided)
  • Possible travel (must have access to a vehicle for travel; mileage incurred for business purposes is reimbursed according to the program provided for employees)
  • Possible collaboration at events outside normal working hours
  • Initial compensation is variable. The Cooperative is in its startup phase. The employment agreement provides for a compensation review to provide base compensation upon reaching certain objectives.
